It is in the wisdom of God for you to discern who is with you and honor him/her so that you can pertake of the grace that is upon him/her.
The danger of familiarity or colleague mentality is that you may be so used to see and interact with someone as your contemporary and ignore his/her position spiritually. That's why Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country (John 4:44) and that's the reason He didn't do much miracles in his own city.
Remember: _That should not make you demean what is upon your life, but you ought to acknowledge, honor and respect people._
